Sixers season over after 88-78 loss

The Philadelphia 76ers had their season come to an end after losing their series to the Pistons 4-1. In the final game, the Sixers lead after each of the first 3 quarters, then had their usual 4th quarter melt down. Allen Iverson played well, but didn't get much help from his teammates. Kyle Korver averaged just 5 points per game in the series, which hurt the Sixers a lot. Recap of Game

I would say that the season was a success because the Sixers did not get to the playoffs last year. For next year, the Sixers need to resign Samuel Dalembert this summer and Allen Iverson and Chris Webber need to learn to play better together. They will have the whole summer to work on it, so hopefully it gets accomplished. Hopefully the Sixers make some off season moves in free agency as well..

Sixers face playoff elimination tonight

The Sixers trail their best of seven playoff series 3-1, and can be eliminated from the playoffs tonight with a loss. The Sixers lost on Sunday in overtime 97-92 in a game they should have won. They were leading by 9 with just over six minutes left in the game, and let their lead diminish. They trailed by 1 at the end of regulation when Willie Green was fouled with 3.1 seconds left. He went to the free throw line to shoot 2 and hopefully put the Sixers in the lead and most likely win the game. However, he looked scared on his first free throw and almost airballed it. He made the second free throw to tie the game and send it into overtime. Then in overtime Rasheed Wallace hit some clutch 3's to give the Pistons a big lead. The Sixers had a chance to tie it with a 3 pointer at the end, but Kyle Korver threw up a horrible shot that had no chance of going in. The Sixers failed to give Allen Iverson shots towards the end of regulation and overtime, which hurt them. Also, Kyle Korver has been a non-factor so far in the playoffs. The Sixers will have to play their best basketball tonight to steal a win away from the Pistons.
